The Isaac Ochberg Heritage Committee wishes all descendants of the world-wide "Ochberg Family" a Happy Pesach.
May you rejoice in our traditions and always be blessed with good health, happiness, prosperity and peace.

HAG SAMEACH - HAPPY PESACH

Snippets of events over the past months.....

Khalil Houry receiving a framed photo of the Hill of Names on the Ochberg Memorial Site in recognition of his superb stone construction.

Three members of the Aviv delegation of WIZO - South Africa - on a visit to the site in November 2012

Dot Pantanowitz, Hillel Shnaps and Bennie Penzik with a class of 13-year-old pupils of the Megiddo School showing a presentation on the Ochberg Orphans.

The Megiddo schoolkids have been working on the area adjacent to the Ochberg Memorial Site - here are two examples of their handiwork in the construction of a mosaic sign - "The Path of Blooms" - and a stone resting place in the shade of a tree along the circular track.

20-12-2012 marked the commemoration of the 75th yahrzeit of Isaac Ochberg - of blessed memory - in Cape Town. Hosting the ceremony was Lauren Snitcher and daughter Michaela together with the JNF and SAZF. Molly Cohen, the oldest living Ochberg Orphan at age 99, received the honour of unveiling a plaque to mark the event.

A 6-minute clip was filmed here in Israel for the Cape Town ceremony.  View it here -  (NB.  Great on Mac or iPad - question mark against the others!)

for their enthusiastic dedication to preserving the legacy of our beloved patron.

Additionally, deserving of special mention is my colleague and good friend, David Sandler of Perth WA, for his major efforts at collecting and collating information and keeping us all informed on a regular weekly basis with his newsletter.
